Catello Esposito (Italy 1976), is a contemporary artist whose art is inspired by both traditional and social media, history, and news.
He was born in Castellammare di Stabia, and attended the Fine Arts Academy of Napoli, wherehe lived until 2007.

He currently lives and works in Pompei.

Many of his works are vivid portraits with a strong visual impact and social meaning. His technique consists of a non-homogeneous layering of sheets of industrial water-based paints, applied using rollers, spatulas, cloths, and spray. Although his gestures are spontaneous, his works’ features are carefully planned, creating an original language.

His preferred subjects are inspired to the German Expressionism of the early twentieth century.
They refer to the gravest human experience: each man and woman is subconsciously involved in an attempt to understand the Self, while being catch in a social system of which they are slave, unable to oppose to a system that they created and imposed on themselves.
